Wellness Genetic Health Testing

MJ Wellness Genetic Testing

MJ Wellness is a genetic screening test provided by Malaysian Genomics Resource Centre Berhad (MGRC). This test screens 154 genes in an individual's DNA for genetic variations that affect health and wellness.

The results from MJ Wellness can assist doctors to prepare a personalised wellness management plan for their patients which specifies healthy lifestyle habits, proper nutrition and effective physical activity.

The genetic markers screened by MJ Wellness are associated with:

  • antioxidant capacity
  • weight management
  • cellular detoxification
  • metabolism of nutrients
  • response towards nutrition and dietary supplements
  • susceptibility towards injuries related to physical activities
  • conditions affecting the skin, bones and connective tissues

Benefits of MJ Wellness Genetic Testing

Rapid Testing

MJ Wellness screens the patient's DNA using multiple genotyping assays. These assays are run in parallel to identify a patient's genotype for clinically-informative genetic markers. All markers screened for have been published and experimentally replicated in peer-reviewed scientific journals 1.2.

Validated Technology

MJ Wellness is run on one of the most accurate DNA profiling platforms available. This genetic screening test uses the latest technologies available from the USA.

Comprehensive Results

The results are reported in a precise and concise format, allowing doctors to easily interpret the analysis and present the findings. The report highlights the patient's risk factors and genetic traits. Doctors will be provided with online guidelines on health improvement interventions. This information can help doctors to recommend additional tests and suitable treatments for the patient, if necessary.

Easy Sample Collection

MJ Wellness only requires a buccal swab sample from the inner cheek, or a blood sample'.

Indication and Utility

Genetic screening of individuals can assist with the prevention and management of chronic health conditions. Markers for genetic health risks and traits are likely to be shared by first degree relatives (siblings, children, parents). From the MJ Wellness report, clinically asymptomatic relatives of patients can be advised to undergo screening.

MJ Wellness results can help doctors or wellness practitioners provide targeted recommendations for patients based on their screening results. These recommendations may include personalized diet and exercise plans, and optimum dosages of nutritional supplements.
